Looking for great bargains on clothes for your family?  Trying to help your college graduate set up his or her first kitchen in a new apartment?  Have your kids outgrown their clothes and they're just taking up space in your closets?

We have gently worn Men's, Women's and Teen Clothing, Housewares, Shoes, Books, Jewelry and accessories.
Proceeds from The TWIG Thrift Shop benefit Inova Alexandria Hospital. The Thrift Shop has helped The Twig, the junior auxiliary of the hospital, raise more than $2 million for the hospital. Your purchases-as well as your donations - have helped The Twig raise funds to provide a stroke care unit at the hospital, an innovative infant security monitoring system and infusion treatment rooms at the Cancer Center, among other things.  Now The TWIG is pledging to raise money for a 16 room telemetry unit, where patients who need care, but not at the intensive care level, can stay for less than 48 hours.

The TWIG Thrift Shop is the place to donate your gently used clothes, those "special" gifts that don't go with your home decor,  household items that are still in good shape and you think someone else would enjoy them. All donations are sorted by the 140 Twig  members who volunteer their time to work at the Thrift Shop.  Items that are sold to the general public include:

New and/or gently-used clothes for women, men, and teens
Note: The TWIG Shop is no longer able to accept and resale childrens clothing and toys
Sporting equipment and collectibles
Small appliances
Seasonal items including holiday decorations
Books (hardback and paperback, current and good condition)

Here are some helpful hints when going through your items..
Donate with your head as well as your heart: Help us by throwing away items that need to be thrown away. Unmatched shoes, broken toys and puzzles with pieces missing are not helpful.
Minimize the charity's work: Give things that are clean and in good repair. Tattered jeans and stained clothing are unlikely candidates for resale.
Think modern: Not many people can use decade-old computers, beta VCRs or the glove you used in Little League.

The TWIG regrets it cannot sell or accept the following:  mattresses;  used computer or electronic equipment;  magazines or college textbooks, furniture and items that are dirty, torn or broken.
